Title: Elevate Your Number Sense

Title: 44's to 100
CCSS:6.EE.1 & 6.EE.2.b Summary:Students will write expressions, using any method with target numbers of 1100 in mind. Every expression must include exactly 44's. An example: 1= 4/4 + 4 4 2= 4 x (4/4) square root 4 Go to Lesson:
Title:Ordering Rational Numbers Activity
Standard:6.NS.6
Summary:Students will work with a partner to figure out where groups of rational numbers go on a number line. Good openended questions that can be asked while they work are: Can you prove that those numbers are in the correct order? How can you convert fractions to decimals and vice versa? Can you draw visual representations of the numbers to help you line them up from smallest to greatest? Once done, student groups will be asked to share and defend their answers as they bring them up to the front of the class. If time is an issue, have different groups do only one problem, and then have them present to the class on that one problem only.

Title: Ladder to Success Common CoreNS Review Test
Standard:6 NS 14 Summary: Students will work in teams to earn a grade. The more problems they get correct, the better grade their team gets. They must work collaboratively to work the problems out correctly. Once they are done, they bring their papers to the teacher for feedback. If a section is correct, they go to the next section. Only 30 minutes is given for the whole test. Go to Lesson:
Title: EaselPad Problem: MultiplyDivide Fractions
Standard: 6.NS.A.1: Interpret and compute quotients of fractions, and solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem. Summary: Students will answer questions that review multiplication and division of fractions. They will work in groups of 4 and use the procedures for EaselPad problems that are uploaded in NCTM 2017. Go to Lesson:
